Release of ScanCenter NG 2021.1

Key changes in the new version:

Scanning

• A new “Add to selected group” option has been added
• Now, during the scanning process, the original scans can be added to any project group. The option is implemented for all types of projects, including a turntable project.

Post-processing

• A new “Combined Smoothing" command has appeared:
• it quickly locally removes scanning defects, markers and other artifacts that are not related to the object
• treats surfaces with breaks
• significantly speeds up the process of preparing the finished model
• located in the Smoothing widget.

• Fixed an error when selecting a model with a brush that occurred in some cases.

• The logic of working in the three-window mode of manual grid alignment has been updated:
• the display of the position of the grids in the windows is synchronized
• , the movement of the grids in the Fixed status is blocked
• , color highlighting for combined grids
• is added, multiple selection is added with the combination CTRL+ALT+LMB

• The “Smoothing” algorithm has been updated and improved

• The “Hole filling” algorithm has been updated and improved:
• border reading has been significantly accelerated
• , and plane filling has been added using two methods
• the estimation of the vector of the hole filling direction
• has been changed, noise removal has been added
• added removal of up to three rows of borders
• improved algorithm stability and patch quality

• Enhanced zooming

• Improved surface texturing

Visualization of the scene

• A new grid display function “Transparency” has been developed
• Improved visualization of grids with dimensions less than 5 mm on the stage
• The tolerance scale display settings and scene visualization settings are included in the interface
• A dimension line has been added for the diameters of cylinders and spheres.
• Improved visualization of grids in the “Perspective projection” when clicking the “Show” button in the center.

Service

• The “Help” section has been developed with a quick transition to educational content and software updates.
• A list of “Hotkeys” has been developed
• The software update indicator is displayed in the interface
• Expert scanning and processing settings are displayed in a separate tab. Camera vibration and defocus ratings have been moved to a new tab.

The new version of ScanCenter NG 2021.1 is already available to all users of RangeVision scanners. The update can be downloaded from the program menu or downloaded in the Software section on support.rangevision.com .
