RV 3D Studio 2025.3 - scan and nothing extra

The minor update of release 2025 fixed a number of bugs and freezes that made scanning difficult, and added some improvements, especially for the Helix 3D laser scanner: support for a rotary table, single-camera mode for scanning deep grooves and holes, and support for 3 mm markers.

Added:

• Added a single-camera mode for 1 line when scanning on Helix, allowing better scanning of hard-to-reach areas such as holes, recesses or grooves.
• Added the ability to use a rotary table when scanning with a Helix handheld 3D laser scanner.
• Added hints to simplify camera calibration on Helix
• Added support for 2 marker diameters within the same project, including support for 3 mm markers
• Added a setting for estimating the focus of projector lines for stationary scanners, which allows you to remove noise from defocusing on scans automatically during scanning.

Improved:

• Algorithmic improvements have been implemented to improve scanning quality even with insufficiently accurate calibration.
• Improved display of the software interface when the display is zoomed in
• Infrared illumination is enabled by default when working with markers on Neopoint
• Accelerated scan recovery after interruption for Neopoint
• A more visual selection of elements has been implemented when manually combining — groups and projects are now also marked with color.
• The installer has improved the selection of components for installation
• To increase the stability of the software, the transition between tabs during the scanning process is limited.
• Improved work with projects made on a scanner model other than the connected one.

Fixed:

• Fixed software freezes when canceling a scan
• User settings are now saved when closing the software.
• Fixed a bug with the ability to transfer primitives to another group.
• Fixed a bug with resetting the number of revolutions of the turntable when confirming the hardware or program settings
• Fixed a bug with the resolution selection after working on low-resolution cameras
• Fixed a bug when working with scans with different display transparency
• Fixed the malfunction of shutter speeds and highlights when scanning the background, completing or canceling the scan
• Inaccuracies in the user interface have been fixed: inaccuracy in the slider of the number of frames with geometry has been removed, the position of the buttons on the activation window has been fixed.
• The selection of zones for Quant and Helix that was mistakenly present has been removed
• Neopoint Max: fixed a bug when estimating the axis of the turntable
• DIY: fixed a bug with the camera model display
• Neopoint: fixed software drop when estimating the axis by object
• Quant: fixed software drop when attempting calibration without specifying ambient temperature
• Quant: The option to evaluate the focus of markers during scanning has been removed, since it does not have such a mode.
