RV 3D Studio 2025.0 - all scanners in one software
For some time after the release of the new handheld laser RangeVision Helix 3D scanner, it could only be used with a special release in 2024, in which work with our stationary scanners was unavailable. Now there is no need for a separate software version — all current models are supported in the new RV 3D Studio 2025.0.
In addition to this major achievement, the new release has brought together dozens of improvements and fixes: eliminating incorrect program behavior in some cases, optimizing and improving the stability of the scanning process, updating the program interface.
Updated launcher
Added:
- Support for handheld and stationary scanners in one software is implemented
- The functionality of hot keys has been expanded and a full list of them has been added to the “Help” section
- The RV brand logo has been brought back to the software icon
- Added the ability to turn off lasers from the Helix scanner software
- Added functionality for saving a project via the “Save project as…” dialog
- Added functionality for hiding marker base grids in the 3D-scene
- Added export of point clouds in the following formats: obj, ply, off, ptx, sc3d
When working with the Helix scanner, you can now lower the brightness of the lasers to 0 and disable the display of reference networks in the scene

- Improved performance when working with large numbers of markers on Helix
- Improved stability of marker detection on Helix
- Improved base grid scanning mode for Helix
- Increased 3D-scene rendering speed
- The launcher appearance has been redesigned
- Text of hints in Setup Wizard and Calibration has been reworked
- The process of checking for updates and updating software has been optimized
- The images in the Setup Wizard have been replaced with more informative ones
- Improved display of point clouds at high zoom levels
- Removed fictitious CPU load when the “Turbo” option is active on tabs that do not use camera images

- Fixed issues with setting points in manual registration mode
- Implemented an option that solves the issue with 3D-scene artifacts on AMD Radeon graphic cards
- Fixed a discrepancy between markings on camera views and tips in the Setup Wizard
- Fixed turnable axis evaluation bug for Neopoint
- Fixed software crash when trying to stop scanning
- Fixed software crash when double-clicking the “Snap” button during calibration
- Fixed software crash when pressing the “Start Scanning” button multiple times
- Fixed incorrect removal of base from 3D-scene
- Fixed the issue with status flickering
- Fixed scanning distance scale lag for Helix scanner
- Fixed 3D-scene slowdowns related to switching tabs
